Listen to Bones!

My favorite project of 2017 was a collaboration with a new friend in the UK, The Death Particle. The record was released a few days ago on Spotify, Bandcamp and Soundcloud. The entire album is captivating.

I’m super excited to share this song because it is like nothing I’ve ever done before. Check out Bones!

I was also asked to help cover “Widower” by Dillinger Escape Plan and I accepted the challenge.

Creating something new and expand my comfort zone feels good. I hope you enjoy it!

Ten Years Ago Today

Ten years ago today was the first Uno Lady show.

It was Coffinberry, Sun God, and Uno Lady at Pat’s in the Flats for the annual Thanksgiving Day bash. I was lucky enough to play with my two favorite Cleveland bands at the time. These photos are by the talented Lou Muenz.

Look at these Coffinbabies!

Here is “Orange Floats,” and “I only got 2 Days,” songs I would have performed that night. You can download them for free.

Uno Lady is Awarded 2018 Panza Foundation Grant

My face hurts from smiling. I love the Panza Foundation and am honored to be a recipient of their generosity. They provide something truly unique and very much needed in the Cleveland music community. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Cleveland’s Panza Foundation awards 2018 funding to four music acts

“By Nikki Delamotte, cleveland.com

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland’s non-profit Panza Foundation will give cash grants in 2018 to four local musical projects: Hip-hop duo FreshProduce., sludge metal act Pillars, avant-garde pop vocalist Uno Lady and indie rockers The Village Bicycle

In addition to playing dozens of shows this past year, experimental “one woman choir” Uno Lady became an Earthquaker Devices artist, and now incorporates many of Akron-made pedals into her creations. She was also part of Dark Songs, a week-long collaborative songwriting festival at the Holiday Music Motel in Sturgeon Bay, WI which ends with a two day show at their local performance art theater, Third Avenue Playhouse. This coming year, Uno Lady plans to write and record a new album with the support of the Panza Foundation.”

DANGEROUSMINDS.NET- THE DIY ‘NEW SINCERITY’ OF UNO LADY: WES ANDERSON MEETS LAURIE ANDERSON MEETS REGGIE WATTS

DANGEROUS MINDS – September 13,2016 –  “Almost a decade ago, Cleveland music audiences began to be charmed and amused by a sprightly new presence known as Uno Lady, a memorable one-lady act with a seemingly preternatural gift for harmonizing, daft wordplay, and knob twiddling….

Music critics love mashing up well-known artists to define the essentially un-definable traits of what makes an artist unique, and I’m going to engage in a little of that now. Uno Lady is (more or less) one part Reggie Watts (you know, with the genius knob-twiddling), one part Laurie Anderson, and one part, ah, the Swingle Sisters, maybe? But it has to be emphasized that the overall tone isn’t like any of those people, it’s closer to a ‘New Sincerity’ figure such as Wes Anderson (whom she name-checks in one of her song titles)….

Today marks the premiere of her video for “Bikini Weeding,” which is the 5th track on Amateur Hour. The video was directed and co-produced by Uno Lady with Lauren Voss and Teresa Crockett of Sugarbowl Creative.”

Pet Sounds

Calling all Cleveland Pets!

I want to sample your critters. Does your cat chirp, your dog howl, or  your bunny growl? I’d like to use those sounds for a future recording.

Cool sounding pets  will be featured on an upcoming Uno lady record. The record’s theme is Cleveland-centric, so I am looking for Northeast Ohio area animals only. If the animal noises are included, your pet will get credit for their artistic addition on the release and you will receive a free download of the song your pet is featured on.

Instructions:

  • Interested pet parents should send a recording (Mp3 or WAV file) to unoladymusic@gmail.com
  • Please include your 1) your name 2) contact info 3) pets name how you’d like it listed on the release 4) what kind of animal your pet is.
  • By sending in the recording you are giving me the rights to use, edit, and adapt your pet’s sound.
  • Tips: Be conscious of the atmospheric noises when recording. It should sound like your pet, not your pet with laughter or music playing in the background.
  • Disclaimer: Not all pet sounds will be used. No pets will get paid.
