To celebrate the five anniversary of the tape release, “I Really Like Genetics but I’d Rather Have a Good Time,” (9/20/2014), I have made it free to whoever wants it. DOWNLOAD AWAY!
Adam Boose from Cauliflower Audio helped turn my unmastered messes into better quality recordings. Now they are yours to have and share with others.
Back in 2009 when the tape was made, I was figuring it out as I went. I had a bug to make music and that is what I did. I was unaware of the importance of using headphones while recording (hence that low-fi buzz some people love). The devilish details were grasped through perseverance and each time I sat down in front of the computer or loop pedal, I learned something new.
Long story short, you don’t need to know what you’re doing. If you have the urge to make music, just do it, even if no one is listening.
