ABOUT THE ARTIST: Vaccariello’s vivid and sensual photography capture the unexpected in his subjects. It’s the moment most often overlooked that Vaccariello interprets and immortalizes on film. With suggestive lighting, evocative shadowing and unique printing techniques, his work explores the idea of ethereal and evocative beauty, the nuances of form, and the subtleties and extremes of physical expression. “I’m a purist at heart – camera, light and composition – striving for that look of unique, but timeless beauty.”

ABOUT THIS SHOW:“I have had the pleasure of photographing dancers for over 25 years. Dance is the nexus of athleticism and grace, their bodies the medium through which they soulfully express themselves to the world. Their creativity is boundless; they bring something to my set that no other subject can! My camera captures only an instant of the artistry they exude.

The “LOCKS of Love, from Waterloo” re-opening is a free public event to be held at the community-based, interactive art installation’s new home at the Zaller Fence at E160th Street and Waterloo Road in the Waterloo Arts District in North Collinwood. The notion of attaching locks to a structure mimics a project started in Paris where lovers come to place locks on the Arts Bridge, symbolizing a permanent connection. It has been replicated around the world, but never in Cleveland.
